Guru Shila

Guru Shila From 1987 to 1995, he received extensive training over the course of eight years on preliminary education such as traditional reading, writing, basic Buddhist philosophy, Tibetan grammar, poetry and ritual practices. He successfully completed the eight-year course on bail Buddhist training in 1995. In the year 1996, he moved to South India and joined Namdroling Monastery for higher education and advance practices. He continued his studies under senior tutors and abbots for over a year.

In 1998, he joined Ngagyur Nyingma Institute, a prestigious institute of Namdroling Monastery. He studied till the lower level of secondary education for three years till 2002. In 2003, he entered into three-year retreat and successfully completed in 2006. Given his excellent conduct, he was appointed tutor for the young and novice talks of the monastery in 2007. He sincerely served under this capacity for six years till 2011. He was enthroned as Vajra Master (Dorjee Lopon) in 2011 after completing his services in various capacities in our monastery.

He has received major empowerments and oral transmissions of the Nyingma traditions from many high masters of this century like, His holiness Yangthang Rinpoche.

Since 2012, he has been leading rituals and other spiritual activities at the monastery and other places where appointed by the monastery: such as, from 2018 to the March of 2021, he served at our centre in Philippines, and from the March of 2021, he has been serving at Namdroling Monastery.
