Please join PCD Dallas for this auspicious occasion as we bring in the celebration of the New Year. We are very fortunate to have Khempo Ngawan Tsondu for the Guthuk and New Year Celebration as well as Khenpo Tenzing Norgay and Lama Jigme for the Lhapso Puja.

First Session-

Prayers with Khenpo Ngawang Tsondu, Khapse Preparation and Arrangement of the Altar

Practice includes Vajarakilaya, Heart Sutra, and Amitayus. Khempo Ngawan Tsondu will lead us into practices which will purify all obstacles in the New Year. Specifically, the Vajrakilaya Gutor is an exercise used to cleanse negativities and eliminate obstacles this year. After practice, we will be cleaning the Gumba and cooking our traditional biscuit ‘Khapse’.

Guthuk, Heart Sutra, and Vajrakilaya practices:

Khenpo will lead the “End of the Year” practices to generate positive intentions for the New Year. Following practice, we will share a delightful dinner featuring traditional Nepali and Tibetan dishes. Among the highlights is Guthuk, a traditional soup served just before Losar. Each bowl of this special soup contains a fortune for the upcoming year!

Losar Puja:

Khempo Ngawan Tsondu will guide traditional New Year’s Day practices which foster great merit and blessings. Once Katas, Flowers, daan, and Tsok to Buddha, Boddhistava and his Holiness are offered. We will take Boddhistava Vows and Prayers. Then begins our traditional Losar feast featuring Nepali/Tibetan cuisine and beverages such as sweet rice, homemade yogurt, soups, chang, and butter tea. If you wish to bring a dish, please feel free to.

Arrival of Khempo Tenzin Norgay

Lhapso:

Losar on the land (5415 Jordan Ridge Drive, Dallas, TX, 75236) includes Riwo Sangcho smoke offering Puja and lunch. Rinpoche and Lama Jigme will lead the morning practice as an offering to all enlightened and worldly beings, local deities and land guardians, purifying one’s path. Following the puja, we will all join in for the traditional Shebru song and dance performance led by the himalayan Sanghas, after which we will eat and drink. Children, families and friends are all welcome to this ceremony for a day filled with food and fun!

Sunday February 18th, 2024(11:00 AM – 1:30 PM)

Teaching on Interdependent Origination by Khempo Tenzin Norgay Rinpoche:

Khempo Tenzin Norgay will give us a talk on Interdependent origination. Interdependent origination is the law of causality that the Buddha discovered at his awakening. This was the extraordinary insight of “whoever sees interdependent origination sees the Dharma, whoever sees the Dharma sees the Buddha.” Rinpoche will also talk about the 12 links of Interdependent origination.

Please do no miss this relevant teaching on the existence of sentient beings. We will have session to answer any questions afterwards.

**A donation of $25 is suggested. However, nobody will be turned down for not having funds.**

Losar Party Celebration:-

Party Celebration to ring in The Year 2024: Year of The Wood Dragon Year Celebrate with us at this “Annual Cultural Show” with dinner at SLPS Community Center 1910 N Britain Rd, Irving, TX 75061. We will have a traditional Sherpa Shebru Dance, Nepali Singing and Dancing by our local talents, and a surprise guest artist performance, as well as lots of entertaining programs like DJ night to get you thrilled for the New Year. I can promise you this is a party you will not want to miss!
Entrance at the door is $120 per person for adult and $70 for kids under 12.
